Another day in paradise

[attr="class","itokaytext"]Scar was so happy that her father had given herself a little room to breathe. Though her options for the summer was either a flat he will rent on Cailleach island or their coven. She took the best of the worst options She hated been confined like she was but being on the island she could at least have more freedom then behind the walls of the cove. Though deep down she could feel that there was something happening with the coven. However she couldn't put her finger on it. Her dad wouldn't tell her anything and being on the island she couldn't snoop. So she tasked a few fellow coven members on the task for her. She didn't think anything would come of it though.

However, she was going to make the most of having a free summer left to her own devices. Though there weren't many students staying over the summer she didn't mind that. It gave her a chance to explore. Which was her favourite thing and do some Photography another hobby of hers. Today she thought she would take a wander along the coastline and visit a few of the beaches most of the students go to. She may bump into someone that is staying over the summer.

Scar wouldn't class herself as one of those typical popular girls thought she had many friends in different circles. Scarlett, dressed in black biker shorts a bikini top and loose-fitting tank top with her hair in a messy bun. It was a warm day but she through a jumper round her middle and tied it there in case the wind off the sea would give her a chill. Scarlett set out on her adventure only bringing with her, her magically altered camera. Making the 20 minutes or so walk to the beach she passed the bottom of the hill where the school stood and when no one was there it looked a bit spooky. A strange shiver went up her spine and she kept on walking. Upon her arrival at the beach, she took off her shoes and socks letting her feet sink into the sand. She took a big breath of the salty sea air. She really did love being here.

Benjamin Twitch had never visited an island before. In fact, he had never been outside of the state of New York where he had been all his fifty years of existence. It was strange, to say the least, but oh so invigorating. He had all but begged his uncle to let him come a month or two early, and he had agreed, on the exception that he brought his two older siblings with him. Of course they weren't really his siblings, not by blood, but they were apart of the same coven he was and so that made them brothers and sisters to him.  Getting off the boat he'd disregarded any orders to stay near by and immediately flung himself in all directions, not sure where to start. He wanted to see the school first-hand however so he decided upon there. It didn't take him long to sprint to the school and when he arrived he was between a hill and a beach. His jacket billowed in the wind as he skidded to a halt to gaze at the mighty structure. It was even more amazing in person, he thought. He had a certain love for gothic architecture and medieval castles in general were just freaking cool. As a fifty year old in a sixteen year old's body he was both impressed and freaked out that he would soon be able to explore the inside of such a marvelous work of art. His gaze eventually turned to notice the sprawling beach behind him. He had never been to a beach, a harbor sure and he was familiar with the ocean but he had never gotten onto the soft sand. So when his feet tentatively set foot onto the soft earth he was a bit thrown off by how spongy it felt. Before he could wonder whether he might take off his shoes or not his precise sense of hearing told him someone was coming up from one side and he looked over in time to see a young girl walking along the beach. He saw that she was school aged and wondered if she was from the school, she must be a year or so older in attendance than him. He had a strong desire to see if she could tell him anything about the Academy. "Hey!" He shouted, waving his hands so as to get her attention in case she didn't hear him, he was somewhat far away from her. He started toward her and when she did look over to him he pushed his hands into his jacket pockets as he met her half-way. WORDS TAG

[attr="class","itokaytext"]Scarlette soon got lost in the beach the lapping waves and the freedom she felt. No one was at the beach when she arrived, though she was hoping that she would have bumped into some of her classmates. She knew a few was still around they had all hung out at the start of the summer. She knew a few loved their beds so they may still been their. She laughed after been isolated to her coven for all of her life before school she hated been inside for too long now. A gentle breeze played with her hair as she walked along the beach. She took a few snaps as she went. She liked how the world looked through a lens. Her ears pricked up as she heard someone shout at her. She turned looking over to a boy, a new face she didn't recognise. When she had seen him he was walking towards her.

What would this encounter bring? She thought as she walked towards the boy. Her feet crunching the sand. A few moments of trekking back over to the boy and she was face to face with him. He was as tall as her, but that wasn't hard for anyone to be as tall as her she was only a short thing. She didn't know him but put on a warm smile as she dropped her trainers at her feet to free up a hand. “Hay… can I help you?” She said a little awkwardly. Scarlette didn't have and special ability she was a pure vampire but she could sense that he was a vampire but with something else, something strange. That spiked her curiosity. “I haven't met someone like you,” She said before backtracking. “That is improper of me, forgive me, I'm Scarlette, Scarlette Leuruna and you are?” She said putting out her hand for him to shake. Usually her second name carried some weight behind it as it is a well know Vampire coven, A coven that revolutionised the way modern vampires get blood. She hated that the whole of her early life was learning to be a lady and proper she often fell back into it when she is met with someone new. Until they realise she is a bit of a nut case and will lose it if she doesn't get her way. It was her downfall after all.

With a warm smile on her face, hoping it will make him feel more comfortable. “Everyone here calls me Scar though” she mentioned, trying to keep things friendly. She was itching to bombard him with questions though. She didn't really know why. She usually is quite reserved when meeting someone but there is an air about him that has got her senses tingling.

Ben got closer to the girl and though he wasn't at all as in tune with his vampiric abilities as some full-fledged vampires he could tell by her complextion and gait that she was supernatural. Well, obviously, but more so than say an ordinary witch. "I don't know, can you?" He asked her right back, putting a bit of a sneer in that. It wasn't whether she could help him but whether she would want to, at least after this encounter. He wasn't the best at first impressions, as his first comment showed. He wore a small smirk as he listened to her next words, but it wavered some as she spoke. Someone, like him? He didn't know whether he should take that as a compliment or not.  Leurona? Now where had he heard that name before? He must have heard it on the grapevine, he rarely left his uncle's mansion but wasn't that some vampire coven known for something? It was something important, well, at least presumedly. If Ben didn't know about them too well he wasn't sure exactly HOW important that was. So he kept an air of nonchalance as he looked her up and down. "Ah, that name rings a bell. Vampire family? Pretty famous I hear, for something, blood milking was it?" He wasn't trying to be rude, okay maybe he was, mostly because he didn't know how else to be. "And I'm sure you haven't met many like me... I'm, unique." His chin rose a tad at that, automatically signaling to her that he thought himself much more than her simple vampire lineage could offer. "Half witch, half vampire. You've probably heard of me." She probably hadn't, but it was nice to think he was important sounding. "Scar....macabre. What are you, some depressed teen that cuts?" His smirk remained and didn't waver as he stepped to her side some, just to get a better angle. "I think Scarlette will do just fine for me." He nodded and extended a hand out as he said these next words. "Benjamin. Benjamin Twitch." He held out his hand expectantly, perhaps the most polite thing he'd done since meeting her. He didn't care, she seemed like the type that could handle his sort. If not, well, then no use bothering with her to begin with then. WORDS TAG

[attr="class","itokaytext"]To say scar was taken about by this boy was an understatement. He was a stranger to her but yet he had the audacity to have a sneer in his voice. If she wasn't trying to give the boy a good first impression she probably would have bitten his head off. But she pushed that down and thought she should let the boy talk. If she could raise one eyebrow it would have shot into the sky with his comment about her family. She swallowed hard and tried to keep a level head. Though internally she was cursing him out. “We created a sustainable way for vampires to feed. Plus the humans get the benefits too…… so if you have every had a blood bag then your welcome.” She huffed at him trying to keep her voice steady but her announcement was placed into her words. Though after saying what she did she realised how childish she sounded.

This boy in front of her was blowing his own horn and very up himself. 'Who does he think he is’ She thought. When he mentioned what he was. She was surprised he was wrong she hadn't heard of him. His kind was not welcomed in her coven. Only ones that were ever accepted where human halflings. Her father was very obsessed with blood purity so other magical creatures would taint it and was shunned. However, since being at school she had met a lot of people from all walks of life and mixes. He was on a roll throwing out the punches the first her clan now her name. Though she was surprised that she wasn't more of a moody teen how much on lockdown Scar had endured most of her life. Before she could answer his remark about her name he was telling her his. Throwing his hand out to shake. Now with anyone else she would have just looked at his hand till he put it back he had thrown so much at her in the space of a two-second meeting. However, she shook his hand lightly. Though she put his name to a memory she would have to find something out about him to make a nickname for him that will wind him up. She liked doing that. Plus when her close friends come back to school she could talk about him. That was if he was going to the Academy?

Scar brought it back to his comment about cutting. “My blood is too present to be spilt so simply child.” She said back to him and she dropped his hand. “Your face is new around her … are you a new starter this year?” She asked as she moved her eyes away from the boy back to the beach bringing a calm over her that ben was starting to great on. Scarlette was also trying to make it look like he was not getting to her. But the hot-headedness that followed her possibly raise its head.

His eyebrows raised at her retort, not missing the slight annoyance in her voice. He pretended he didn't notice as he shrugged his shoulders. "Ingenious! Or simply just less messy. But, if it helps you sleep better at night..." He wasn't about to admit that he had never tasted human blood, much less out of a blood bag or live subject. The thought of it sent his nerves on edge, but he didn't deny the certain allure it had to it. Though he learned to amply control his bloodlust around his coven siblings, it didn't mean he wasn't tempted by the ample blood supply coursing through their veins. His gaze trailed toward the beach as he thought of this but quickly covered up any sign of discomfort on the subject. "I suppose I just prefer it fresh off the line." He smiled showing his short incisors.  Who does he think he is? He heard the thought as clear as day. It was one of his gifts his witch side allowed him, it was both a blessing and curse if he said so himself. But it happened seemingly randomly, when he wasn't trying to listen in on others. Perhaps the Academy could help him hone it better, he could certainly use it to his advantage... He smirked secretly as he looked back at her, knowing despite how reserved she looked that he was getting to her.  His eyes blazoned slightly at her use of the word child at him. He HATED being called one, especially to his face. His uncle did it to him enough times and he certainly didn't need to hear it from this girl. She may be older than him but she definitely was still young compared to adult vampires. "Don't call me that." He snipped, breaking contact with her and keeping a now fisted hand by his side. His eyes narrowed at her. What does she think she is, royalty or something? He thought, not aware that he projected that very thought towards her. He looked away briefly. "Yeah I'm starting my first year." He told her, stuffing his hands back into his pockets. "I might as well be going in as a third or fourth though. My intellect is far more superior than most people's my apparent age." He made a note to say 'apparent' in a way that said he didn't consider himself a child or anything. "Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the experience." He wasn't sure if he was more interested in what he would learn or who he would meet. At least the latter part made him a bit nervous, not that he would ever admit that aloud... "Anything enlightening you feel I ought to know about the Academy before first day?" He asked her casually, eyes turning back to her curiously.  WORDS TAG

[attr="class","itokaytext"]Breathing in the salty air.She knew even this new, she wouldn't say friend, person was not going to spoon her day. Besides anything being away from home was a bonus for her. Her interest pricled when he said he liked it fresh from source. He didn't look like a vampire that would get a human to feed off. That impressed her. She side eyed looked at him as he showed her his baby teeth. She had never taken a fresh victims, she was raided on blood bags. There was a celebration that happens when something madger for the clan comes up and they have a feast on humans. The last one being her birth, the next may be her taking over the clan. Who knew.

A harmless smirce sprung to life on her face when she touched a nerve calling him a child she took that to her memory bank. It may have come in use soon she thought. She liked knowing what rilled people up was a fun game to see how many buttons she could press before they lost it or her.

Scarlette scoffed at his comment about needing to be in a higher class than most his age. ‘He really is full of himself, up his own derriere’ “You will find that the school say they care about normal lesions that's a front, why send such a gifted youngster her to learn their ABC and their 1,2,3’s” she commented. She wasn't wanting to burst his bubble. As long as students passed their necessary exams the school took more time in harnessing their individual gifts. Which who wouldn't love playing around with a load of supernatural stuff.

She heard his voice but it sounded strange and for a moment she answered what sempt like a rhetorical question. “I am classed as royalty, in fact, so you are right there, im the next air to my clan.” She sort of wanted to rub it in. Like she was better than him. Until looked at ben and realised he hasn't asked a question. She rocked back on her heels a little taken aback. Though really from what the school had thrown at her why was she surprised, he had said he was part witch. She couldn't really think about his last question about knowing things about the school. She just let slip “You didn't actually say that did you?” Compleat shock in her voice. She was more shocked that she hadn't seen anyone with them powers before at the school. However, a sea of violation washed over her. “Wait a minute if I heard that in my head have you been listening to my head?” It may have come across a bit of a dumb way to have said it but she was intrigued yet violated at the same time.

He really is full of himself, up his own derriere When he heard her thoughts again he was starting to get more annoyed. Where was the off switch? His lips pursued but he said nothing to it. She may call it being full of himself he was simply taking pride in his own superiority above others. And why shouldn't he? What was the point of being better if he couldn't be allowed to express it? "I'm not worried about my basics, I learned all that decades ago, I'm more interested in learning about my abilities." He told her pointedly, raising his hand briefly to look at his bent fingers, gazing lazily over them like a cat with a dead mouse. However when he heard her next words he realized that he must have sent his thoughts to her and he inwardly groaned. Great, so much for subtle.  "Why am I not surprised." He said lowly, mostly to himself as his gaze steadily met hers when he heard her next outburst, not surprised at that either. He smirked coyly at her, letting his hands drop to his front as he clasped both of them together. He stared at her in a way that he was oh so fascinated with her life of royalty and what other bullshit she ruled over but it was expressed so outrageously that she had to know without her reading his mind that it was all feigned. (thoughh secretly he was a bit interested in her now that she said she was some sort of princess) "Wow wee, you must have so many loving loyal subjects under your glorious reign!" He pronounced sarcastically. "Calm down princess, I'm not doing it on purpose. Well, I could, but I wasn't. You'll be happy to know that I can't control it. At least, not yet." He grinned wickedly at her again. "So I suggest any inappropriate thoughts about how you might want to have your wicked way with me in bed be kept silent." He winked at her before stuffing his hands back into his pockets. Indeed, he was as egotistical about his own talents as he was about his boyishly handsome looks. Though he had to say he wouldn't mind if she thought anything like that about him, she was rather dazzling herself. For a full vampire at least. WORDS TAG

Showing off their powers however it also highlighted how he needed the school to harness his powers more. Though his remark over her heritage was pushing her buttons. He did not know how privileged he was to be talking to her. “Do you….” She started but he continued talking so she stopped bought her time you could say. He was pushing her buttons calling her princess. No one really did to her face she knew a lot did in the clan. But she didn't like it. She was brought up a lady yes but she wasn't a princess, she had to work to be recognised by her father.

His next comment made her scoff and push down a laugh. She hadn't even thought about his looks to be honest. Her eyes fell over him. If he was a little taller maybe? Why was she thinking this? “OOh ben if I wanted you, believe me, you would be putty in my hands already...not just you that has powers you know” She smirked. She hoped that by not directly turning him down that he wouldn't be offended she didn't like doing that much. Though if he was a real dog she was known for speaking her mind and that would have come out. Though thinking about it most of the people that attended the academy were good looking, It must be the good genes everyone has. He had vaguely told her about his powers, on one hand, she was glad he needed work on them but at the same time, it meant he was unpredictable at using it and she didn't like that. He could be walking about in her brain right now.

Scarlette thought this meeting was going a bit back and forth like school children. She knew they were but still both being vampires they had many human years on others at the school. She resorted back to talking about the school. It seems like the thing he liked a lot of knowledge. She was also a little bored of the spot there were in the middle of the beach. “Want to explore? And talk?” She questioned before moving her body position to head back along the beach the way she came. Once he decided to join her they walked down the beach. “How come you have come early there's still about another month till school starts” She pondered. She changed her hands on her camera ready to pull it up to her eye if she saw something she liked the look off. Keeping it light she kept digging at him she wanted to know more. She was happy to reciprocate the questions if he had any about her. “Do you have any other brother or sisters that go here?” She quizzed. Scarlette knew that unless born like her his mother probably wouldn't have survived but that didn't mean he could have siblings.

I'll keep that in mind. Ben thought as she told him what she was capable of doing to him. He might have argued since he was half-vampire her powers wouldn't work so well on him but he let it go. She hadn't completely turned him down, now had she? So with a trivial smirk he looked away and listened to her next words. He simply followed her when she wanted to go off and explore. He looked out at the shore and saw how the shady sun played over the waves. He breathed in the scents of the wind and ocean spray and felt more relaxed than he'd been on the boat ride there. When she spoke again he didn't look at her as he replied. "Restless I suppose. I was tired of being cooped up in my Uncle's home, plus I wanted to get a head start." He dragged his gaze back to her and noticed her camera suddenly. How cute, he thought, what other secret talents did she have? "You must get some pretty decent photos here. This place is pretty photogenic." He observed, glancing down at the metal device.  "I'm here with two of my coven siblings actually. They attended here before me but Uncle didn't want me coming by myself even though I can handle it." He gritted his teeth some thinking of his annoying relation. Why couldn't he just lay off him? He thought he was a child when infact he was as old as any of his graduates! Shaking his head subtly, Ben looked down at his feet and noticed a sea shell. He picked it up and examined it thoughtfully. "What about you? Is any of your coven in attendance at the Academy?"  WORDS TAG

[attr="class","itokaytext"]Scar looked back to Ben "Your lucky you have been allowed her early. I had to beg my father to even come. If he had it his way I would been locked behind our coven walls and home schooled , till it was my time to take over" she exclaimed was she telling Ben a bit too much about herself? Who knew. Scarlette looked down at her camera when her said about the photos. She did agree with him their this place was the best all the secret little places she had snapped how the water sparkles the wind plays with the trees. How free all the people sent here and organic she got photos. They all had smiles on their faces, unlike at home. “Yes, there is some great places to snap here, I took it up as a hobby when I started school here.” She said looking back at Ben before he explained he was here with some of his coven members. She wondered if she would have known them. “Who are your coven Family?” She asked a bit too quickly. Looking back down the beach she expected to see them watching him like they had caught up with him. “Where are they?” She quizzed more to herself than anything.

She watched the boy it looked like he was seeing the world for the first time. ‘Surely he had seen a sea shell before’ She asked herself. Being mindful that he may hear her thoughts she tried to keep her head clear imagining images from all over the island places to go and things like that. She nodded when he asked about her coven. “Yes they do, though all but one don't come from the inner circle.” she paused. She didn't know how big his coven was if it was a small coven compared to what she came from. So she added. “There's so many that are part of the coven, but don't live in the manor house they live nearby you see.” She thought how else to explain it. “So in a long-winded way, yes there are people from my coven here but I don't know them well. Only one I know well" Scar was babbling so she stopped. Walking further along the beach she asked another question to keep getting to know him. “So you know my hobbies have you got any?” There must be more than learning that he has done before coming to school.
